Concrete goes through three distinctive hardening / curing stages.  During the first stage little or no strength is gained.  During the second
stage as much as 1,000 PSI per hour in strength gains can be realized, during the third stage strength gains of 50 PSI per hour happen.  Ordinary accelerators start working the second they contact the cement, shortening the working time of stage one.  Trinic Stage II accelerator / hardener is
designed to start working during the second stage of strength development.

Dosage:

  • .5% to 4% of the cementitious weight: see results below.

Test Results:

Test 1 – Control, no accelerator:  GFRC 60-60 (90-10)-18 about 1 cubic foot

  • 54 lbs. Federal type I white cement – 90%
  • 6 lbs Trinic Bright White Silica Fume – 10%
  • 60 lbs. Q-Rok #1 Silica Sand from US Silica Corp
  • 18 lbs. potable water
  • 3% Trinic, GFRC Admix (3% of 60 = 1.8 lbs)
  • Overnight Cure – started at 70 degrees, covered with plastic and insulating blanket, no additional heat used.  Sampled were cured in 72 degree water after striping the next day.
  • Mix consistency – Flowable, would make a good spray coat

  • Mix consistency – would need an additional .2%
    or so of Trinic Plastisicer to be sprayable
